Coaching Staff
Travis LaMar – Head Coach With ample Bombers & baseball experience on his resume, Travis LaMar took the helm as Head Coach in 2019. LaMar joined the Bombers staff in 2017 as an Assistant Coach. In 2018, he assumed the duties of Pitching Coach. An Evansville native and Harrison High School standout, LaMar was drafted out of high school by the Baltimore Orioles. Opting for college, he pitched for Olney Central College before finishing his eligibility at Wright State University. He played all of his collegiate summers with the Dubois County Bombers (2007 – 2009). Following graduation, he played professionally for the Lake Erie Crushers & the Evansville Otters.
Victor Alvarez – Assistant Coach Another Bombers alum, Venezuela native and recent Oakland City University graduate Victor Alvarez began his coaching career in 2023 as an Assistant Coach for the team. Victor was a member of the 2021 Bombers Ohio Valley League Championship squad and returned to play for the Bombers in 2022 where they finished League runner-up.
Mike Fowler – Assistant Coach Mike Fowler is entering his third summer on the Bombers coaching staff. In his playing days he was an All-Interstate Athletic Conference infielder at St. Albans School in Washington, D.C. He then walked on at Dartmouth College, playing shortstop, third base, and designated hitter for the Big Green. Among his high school coaches was Eddie Saah, named by MaxPreps the greatest baseball coach in D.C. history with a 210-1 league record, and Tom Brown, a Washington Senators infielder and the starting safety on Vince Lombardi’s Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers. Drawing on their examples, Mike coached baseball at Highlands Latin School in Louisville for eight years, helping the Highlanders to compile a 47-game league winning streak and rack up four Kentucky Christian Athletic Association state titles. Outside of baseball, Michael Fowler graduated from Harvard Law School and practiced law at Mintz, Levin, termed by the Boston Herald, the city’s “powerhouse law firm.” Mike also served in 1980 on the White House staff, where he fielded multiple death threats on President Jimmy Carter and helped authorities track them to a serial killer, later executed for his crimes. For more than thirty years Mike has taught law and politics as a professor at the University of Louisville and in visiting posts at Georgetown University, George Washington University, Tufts University, Colorado State University, and the University of Virginia.
Logan Marx – Pitching Coach Logan Marx is a native of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and played collegiate baseball at Prince George’s Community College and Olivet Nazarene University. He earned his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership at Montreat College. At Montreat, Logan serves as a Graduate Assistant Coach, where he works closely with the varsity pitching staff and oversees the baseball program’s strength and conditioning efforts. He earned his NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification in April 2025. Logan is passionate about athlete development and is committed to helping players maximize performance while staying healthy throughout the season.
