Bombers Sign Local Talent
The Bombers have signed Dubois County natives Derek Katter and Brett Merkley for the 2009 summer. Katter, a graduate of Jasper High School will man the outfield. Merkley, who spent his high school days at Forest Park, joins the Bombers as a right-handed pitcher. For more information, vist the news tab at the top of the page for the release.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Played baseball at Oceanside High School as a utility player...as a
junior he hit .290 and had 27 stolen bases, while helping his team
reach the CIF semi-finals...as a senior he hit .360 and had 24 stolen
bases, while helping his team reach the CIF finals...he was a two-time
second-team All-Avocado League performer.
PERSONAL: Jonathan Hotta was born on Oct. 31, 1989 in Long
Beach, Calif....he is the son of John and Mary Hotta...chose to attend
USD because of the academic prestige and because of the outstanding
baseball program.
